Australia

Hi my name is Kiatoa and I go to Christ the King School. I come from Australia. I lived in Brisbane. I now  live in New Zealand. When I first came to New Zealand, I was scared because everyone was staring at me. I miss my family who are back in Australia, but I still can see my family on Facebook.

I am going to tell you something about Australia. Australia is a hot place with snakes. It is hotter than a heater and the desert is too dangerous. The snakes are all around Australia. They are poisonous and they can bite you which could kill you.

There are a lot of beaches in Australia. I like to go for a swim with my family. I like the kangaroos. They jump around the bush. It does not rain that much as in New Zealand. Also it is not as cold as New Zealand, it is too hot.

Australia is a popular country to visit. I may be going back to Australia in 3 years. You should visit Australia  because it is AWESOME!

My friends in Australia are very fun to play with. Their name’s are Luke and Hanna H. I miss my friends. We use to play Zombies. We pretended there were zombies everywhere. I have friends in New Zealand.

Did you know in Australia it can get very hot in Summer. I lived in Mount Isa which is in the Outback. When it is summer, the temperature can get up to 48 degrees. We had to close our windows and the curtains to keep the heat out. We had to always have fans and air conditioners going, day and night.

We went for a holiday to the Gregory River which is way out in the bush. We camped along the side of a river. In the river there were many crocodiles. A friend of ours caught a wild baby crocodile and showed all of the kids. We did fishing and slept in a big tent. It was many hours away from Mount Isa and we had to drive off the normal road and into the bush along a dirt road to find the river.

Some weekends we would go for a holiday to Townsville. That is in the North of

Queensland. It is near the ocean and we loved going to the beach and the warm sunny weather. We spent a lot of time at the park where all the tourists visit.

My favourite Australian animals are Kangaroos and Koalas. They are native

Australian animals. They live in the outback and in the cities. We used to see kangaroos in our street where we lived.

The Australian flag has blue and red and white stars. It has 6 stars. It looks very

similar to the New Zealand flag. We just have more stars. I have lived in many cities in Queensland.
